Trade Finance Advisory Council (TFAC)
Overview
The TFAC advises the Secretary of Commerce in identifying effective ways to expand access to finance for U.S. exporters and their foreign buyers.
The TFAC provides a dynamic forum to bring together the perspectives from a wide range of stakeholders in order to obtain balanced and comprehensive insights on the current challenges and prospects for U.S. exporters in accessing trade finance and related resources. The TFAC offers the opportunity for public input in the development of strategies that the Department of Commerce may incorporate as part of its export promotion and trade finance education efforts.
The TFAC is comprised of up to 20 private-sector individuals, appointed by the Secretary of Commerce to serve for a two-year term. The Assistant Secretary for Industry and Analysis serves as the Executive Director. The Office of Finance and Insurance Industries administers the TFAC.
